The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers towards the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering services like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it can be alarmed with regards to the substantial amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The service place created for intervention encounters a substantial inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it tricky with the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to permit the servicing of all buyers and boost access to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
